What is an IIT

How to do IIT?
Students first have to clear JEE Mains exam to get admission in IIT college. After this, top 2.5 lakh students take the JEE Advanced exam for admission in IITs. Top 1 lakh students who pass this get admission in IIT.
Different courses are offered in IIT colleges. Which are called branches. Like Civil Engineering Branch, Software Engineering Branch, Mechanical Engineering Branch, Computer Science Branch etc.
Students who get higher rank get higher branches like software engineering for Btech while students with lower rank have to study in branches like mechanical and civil.
Eligibility for IIT
To do IIT any candidate should have 12th pass from science stream.
It is mandatory to pass class 12th with Physics and Mathematics subjects, while Chemistry or Biotechnology must be the third subject.
To go to IIT, it is mandatory to have 75% marks in class 12th, while a provision has been made to give percentage relaxation to such and ST class people.
Note – Due to the current circumstances, all the students who clear Jee Advanced will get admission in IITs, whatever the compulsion of 75% marks in class 12th has been done away with.
IIT Exam Pattern
The IIT exam is considered to be very tough. In this, questions are asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

How to get admission in IIT after graduation
If you want to take admission in IIT college after completing your graduation degree then you can take it.
You can enter into IITs for other courses after graduation as well through JAM (Joint Admission Test) for M.Sc, GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), for designing courses UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design), CEED(Common Entrance Exam for Design), HSEE (Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Exam), CAT (Common Admission Test) for MBA in IITs. So if one has dream to enter into IITs, there are so many other ways and courses except JEE.
How much is the fee of IIT?
The fees of IIT is approximately 2 to 2.5 lakh rupees every year, that is, if you do the 4 year course of IIT, then you get the fees of IIT about 8 to 10 lakh rupees.
In this, the fee for SC, ST and PH students in IIT college has been kept low, for them the total fee for 4 years ranges from ₹ 2 to ₹ 4 lakh.
