How much rank is needed for IAS

UPSC Exam 2023
UPSC exam is conducted in 3 phases. In which prelims is the first stage, mains exam is the second stage, and finally the interview.
The first stage exam of UPSC consists of two papers of two hours each. The first paper is on General Studies, on the basis of whose marks the cutoff is prepared.
The second paper is CSIT which is a qualifying paper, which means you only have to get 33% marks in it. For example, out of 200 marks, it is mandatory to score 67 marks on paper 2.
If the candidate clears the cutoff in the first paper but does not get the qualifying number in the second paper, then the prelims exam is not considered clear, the prelims exam is conducted in two shifts i.e. both the papers are held in different shifts.
After clearing the prelims, candidates can appear for the second stage exam i.e. mains exam and the real written exam of the UPSC IAS mains exam itself, which is many times tougher than the prelims exam.
There are a total of 9 papers in mains. First of two papers is a language paper which is of qualifying nature i.e. you have to score only 33% marks in it.
The marks of this paper are not considered for making the merit list. After this there is an essay paper, in this also two essays have to be written in 3 hours.
Different topics are available for writing both these essays. You can choose according to your own. Then there are four papers of General Studies of 3 hours each, on which maximum of two papers are taken in 1 day.
After this comes the optional paper, it consists of paper one and paper two. Students can choose their paper according to their own, in which they are good, in this way there are a total of 9 papers.
Marks of all other papers except language papers are added at the time of merit list preparation and after all this comes your final step.

UPSC Vacancy 2022, 1011 UPSC Ranks are expected after the completion of the exam. UPSC results will be released after the interview round along with the UPSC cutoff. Based on the cutoff marks for each category, IAS, IFS and IPS Ranking will be released.
